Maxxis helps guide Mattia Guadagnini to world championship glory
Maxxis has helped guide Mattia Guadagnini to world championship glory, with the young Italian rider sealing the Junior 125 World Motocross Championship at Trentino.
Racing for the Maddii Racing team on Maxxis’ brand new MX-ST tyre – developed in partnership with racing legend Jeremy McGrath – Guadagnini took a brace of moto wins to score the overall victory and with it the 2019 world championship.
It also helped power Andrea Gorini to an overall podium in the EMX2T two-stroke series, as he finished third on his Mandrile Racing Yamaha.
Mattia Guadagnini said, “I am really happy to win this title and it was nice to win in Italy in front of my home fans. Thanks to the MX-ST, I had the immense traction and precise handling I needed to be the first across the line and to ultimately win the World Championship.”
Maxxis International UK’s Managing Director, Derek McMartin, said,“Mattia and the Maddii Racing team have done a brilliant job this season, and we’re proud to have played a part in their success with the new MX-ST. 2019 is the tyre’s first year of competition so to wrap up a championship so early is great news for everyone involved, and really highlights the tyre’s performance potential.”
The new MX-ST was comprehensively tested and developed by Maxxis in partnership with seven-time AMA Supercross champion Jeremy McGrath. It boasts a new, unique tread block design for improved grip and cornering performance, which also extends tyre life. The tyre’s lightweight, pliable carcass design also delivers greater stability, comfort, and improves feel. It also delivers greater impact absorption and confidence over jumps.
Buyers of the new MX-ST before July 26 will also be able to enter a prize to draw to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Imola for the MXGP of Italy on August 18, with Maxxis an official tyre supplier.
